Calvin Sia, MD

The PCPCC is pleased to present  Dr. Calvin Sia, retired primary care pediatrician and child advocate from Hawaii, with the Barbara Starfield Primary Care Leadership Award, for his commitment to providing family-centered, pediatric care. Dr. Sia was an original developer of the medical home as a model of providing coordinated, comprehensive pediatric care in partnership with families, strongly anchored to the community. Dr Sia has become an important advocate for programs that involve all children, in particular those with special care needs. Dr. Sia has expanded his efforts related to early child development and the medical home by working with pediatric professionals from Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, the Phillipines, Singapore, Thailand, along with the United States.
