Biography

David Meyers, MD, is the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality’s (AHRQ) Deputy Director and Chief Physician. Dr. Meyers directs the agency’s work in support of the patient-centered medical home and has led EvidenceNOW, AHRQ’s $110 million initiative to help primary care practices improve patients’ heart health.

Dr. Meyers is a board-certified family physician and nationally recognized leader in primary care research and organization. As a member of the Office of the Director, he is involved in agency strategic program planning including AHRQ’s three priority initiatives: transforming care for people with multiple chronic conditions, improving diagnosis, and powering decision-making through data and analytics.
