Biography

Mark Friedberg is a senior natural scientist at the RAND Corporation, practice lead in payment models and health care delivery for RAND Health Advisory Services, and a practicing general internist. His research focuses on performance improvement by health care providers, innovations in primary care, and methods for measuring health system quality and efficiency. Dr. Friedberg has developed and fielded surveys of patients, physicians, medical group leaders, and other clinical staff. His clinical work has included ambulatory primary care and hospital-based internal medicine, and he is an assistant professor of medicine, part-time, at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Friedberg received his B.A. in economics and statistics from Swarthmore College; his M.D. from Harvard Medical School; and his M.P.P. in health care policy from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
