Biography

Throughout his 25-year career, Salvatore Volpe, MD, FAAP, FACP, CHCQM, has demonstrated commitment to improving care, which is reflected by the authentic, patient-focused environment he created in his practice. As a physician champion for promoting electronic health records and health information technology use for quality improvement and as a long-standing supporter of patient-centered primary care and the medical home, Dr. Volpe exhibits tireless enthusiasm for sustained patient relationships. He is one of just a few physicians in the country to have achieved board certification in pediatrics, internal medicine, geriatrics, clinical informatics, and quality assurance. In 2015, Dr. Volpe became the Chief Medical Officer of the Staten Island Performing Provider System. He is also a solo provider practicing on Staten Island, New York.

Dr. Volpe is also the recipient of the PCPCC’s 2016 Patient-Centered Medical Home Practice Award, recognizing his extraordinary medical home practice committed to primary care that is patient-centered, comprehensive, coordinated, accessible, and committed to quality and safety.
