Biography

Tim Ashe has been the President of the Vermont State Senate since 2017. First elected to the Senate in 2008, he was previously chair of the Senate’s Finance Committee, which has jurisdiction over taxes, banking, utilities, health insurance, and more. He now serves on the Senate Appropriations and Transportation Committees.

Professionally, Tim was an affordable housing developer for eight years during which he and his team created or renovated 396 affordable senior apartments with budgets exceeding $30M.  He now contracts with non-profits to provide project management services on development projects. In each of his three years leading the Senate, the chamber has prioritized investments in primary care and preventive services.
